Analysing Music Videos: Coldplay, 'Paradise' Identify the conventions in  Paradise  and give examples of when they are used. One convention is that the video is a narrative which means throughout the video, they are telling a story about a fake elephant who is in captivity and escapes to try and find 'paradise'. There is slow paced editing, each shot last around 4 second which makes viewers have empathy for the elephant its situation. Furthermore, (at 1.44) the shot is filmed from behind bars so the viewers can understand the elephants point of view and have empathy for it. Which genre does  Paradise  conform to? Audience: Black Magic and The Vamps How do audiences interpret the representations within the music videos?  In 'Black Magic', young girls may take e video negatively. For example, they can see that when the girls transform into being popular and cool, the wear trendy clothes. Girls might watch this and think that the only way that they can be popular, have a lot of friends and get male attention is to have trendy clothes.
