From listening to it who is the target audience? Why?
Capital 2007: Teenagers/families, because of the upbeat pop sound, attuned voice and glitchy effects.
Classic FM: Old people, because it is classical music that is old which may have been what they grew up with.

What stands out about the jingle?
Capital: Upbeat sound, autotuned voice, glitching editing effects, pop music.
Classic FM: Older man doing the voiceover, classical music as background music.

Radio 1 vs Radio 4
Similarites: Both cover news. However Radio 1's news is only around 15 minutes so it can appeal to a younger audience without them getting bored.
Differences: Morning starts at 6.00 on radio 4 and 6.33 on radio 1. Radio 1 plays pop music that appeals to a younger audience however radio 4 doesn't play music, they talk about cooking or gardening which appeals to an older audience.
Who is the target audience? Radio 1: teenagers, younger people. Radio 4: middle aged people
Who is the presenter? Radio 1: Many presenters (including Nick Grimshaw). Radio 4: Different people, no one named.

radio 4 mode of address: factual information

Radio 1: Upbeat, many sound effects, background music is pop, voice is auto tuned
Radio 4: Classical music (appeals to older people), an older man speaking with no extra effects, simple
