Radio 1 live lounge benefits artists because they play a wide variety of music genres; for example, hip-hop, pop, indie. Therefore listeners may discover a new genre of music they did not know they had an interest in until hearing the songs played. This may lead to them purchasing new artists albums or songs. Also, if the artist performs live, this will get uploaded to streaming websites such as youtube or spotify which leads to them getting more publicity to a wider audience.

The BBC remit is to inform, educate and entertain. Producers of radio stations are obligated to fulfil their remit so they can enrich peoples life. For example, they 'inform' a wide audience of British culture because many people will find performances by from live lounge on youtube and be able to see British singers and understand more about British culture.
Producers of BBC are obligated to fulfil their remit to 'educate'. Radio 1 does this by having quick news sessions that update listeners on whats happening around the world. In addition, many young people may not intend to listen to the news and they just listen to live lounge for the entertainment, however they are still being educated throughout because the hosts are regularly speaking about news and popular topics.
