4. How does live lounge target different audiences?
One way live lounge targets different audiences is by having features from peoples favourite artists. They often have live performances from famous, well known singers which attracts a wide audience. For example, Sam Smith was singing live on Live Longue; this may mean that his fans who do not usually listen to Radio 1 will start listening to hear him on it. This also means they may enjoy the rest of the programme, leading them to become a loyal listener.
Another way Live Lounge attracts different audiences is that they often have unsigned signers that aren't very well known. This attracts a wide audience as the public are constantly looking for new singers to listen to and support. Furthermore, singers who are just starting off may want to be featured on Live Lounge to get publicity, so they might listen regularly to not only see what other small artists are doing, but to see how they can get featured on live lounge.
